McDonald's in the UAE is giving out a packet of lettuce seeds with the toy that accompanies each Happy Meal bought.

The campaign, part of McDonald's "Little Seeds of Hope" initiative, aims to encourage families to learn about te benefits of planting seeds. The seeds McDonalds are giving out are from Del Monte Foods who supply fruit and vegetables to the fast food chain.

Walid Fakih, CEO of McDonalds UAE said "We have been committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and a local member of our community since our inception. We do this through long-standing partnerships such as with Emirates Environmental Group and trusted suppliers like Del Monte Foods. Through our Little Seeds of Hope initiative, we want to encourage families to make a small contribution to the environment while creating feel-good moments." said Walid Fakih, CEO at McDonald's UAE.

The initiative is an ideal activity to bring families together and learn about planting and also teaches children the values of patience and care.
