Dubai Health Authority Launches A Dhs 105 Million Mental Wealth Framework
Updated on 23 July 2024

Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has launched a comprehensive Mental Wealth framework aimed at enhancing the well-being of Dubai's community. This initiative encompasses ten strategic initiatives designed to elevate mental health standards across the city over the next five years, with an investment of Dhs 105 million.

The Mental Wealth framework, endorsed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, introduces a series of innovative initiatives aligned with global best practices to promote mental well-being. It supports the objectives of Dubai Social Agenda 33 by promoting a proactive social system focused on protection, care, and empowerment. Moreover, it aims to strengthen Dubai's reputation as a leading global city for quality of life by enhancing health services, promoting healthy lifestyles, and ensuring the highest standards of mental health services.

Key objectives of the Mental Wealth framework include the development of a comprehensive care model covering all aspects of mental well-being, from early detection to intervention and prevention. It targets all segments of society, providing specialised initiatives for early identification of factors affecting mental and emotional well-being.

The framework also emphasises high-quality care, support, and counselling services to promote psychological stability and community well-being.

Furthermore, the Mental Wealth framework prioritises the educational environment, empowering school staff and parents to nurture students' psychological resilience. It seeks to enhance satisfaction and happiness among community members while promoting research and innovation in mental health practices.

This commitment underscores Dubai's dedication to evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement in psychological and community stability for all residents, including the elderly, children, People of Determination, those with chronic diseases, and other diverse segments of society.
