Updated on 02 August 2024

Dubai Opera in Downtown Dubai, officially unveiled 10 spectacular shows for its 2024-2025 season in June. And to further heighten the excitement, Dubai Opera has now announced the addition of another thrilling musical to its line-up. Dubai Opera, in collaboration with Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, is excited to present the Chichester Festival Theatre and Stage Entertainment production of the Olivier Award-nominated musical 'Singin’ in the Rain'. Making its Middle Eastern debut, the show will run from 30 November to 14 December at Dubai Opera.

Audiences can anticipate an extraordinary theatrical experience that blends classic Hollywood charm with cutting-edge stagecraft, including a stunning live rain effect.

Set against Hollywood's shift from silent films to talkies, 'Singin' in the Rain' offers an engaging look at this transformative era in cinema. This musical comedy reveals the challenges and triumphs of silent film stars as they adapt to the new sound era, providing a nostalgic yet thrilling glimpse into a pivotal time in film history.

Featuring timeless hits like 'Singin' in the Rain', 'Good Morning', 'Make 'em Laugh', and 'Moses Supposes,' this acclaimed adaptation has mesmerised audiences in the UK, USA, Australia, Japan, and beyond. Now, the Gulf region will experience this theatrical gem, starring a renowned performer in the role famously portrayed by Gene Kelly in Jonathan Church’s celebrated production.

With Andrew Wright’s dynamic choreography and Simon Higlett’s lavish set design, combined with the film's charm, romance, and humour, this show promises an unforgettable experience.

'Singin' in the Rain' at Dubai Opera is more than just a performance, it's a grand tribute to Hollywood’s golden age. With dazzling acts, hilarious moments, and touching romance, this production is set to be a season highlight.

Secure your seats now for an extraordinary evening. Early Bird tickets are available for shows from 30 November to 14 December. Tickets can be booked via Dubai Opera's website and the price starts from Dhs 450.
