Dubai To Host World’s Most Expensive Bodybuilding Championship In September
Updated on 22 August 2024

Dubai is set to host a prestigious event in September, as the emirate has been selected as the venue for the world's most expensive bodybuilding championship. The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) will host the second edition of the Binous Classic Bodybuilding Championship on 7 and 8 September, featuring sports competitions and exhibitions.

A total of 700 male and female athletes will compete for cash prizes totalling Dhs 1.2 million, the highest prize amount for an event of its kind worldwide.

The Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation announced details of the two-day event at a press conference held at the Dubai Sports Council, attended by prominent figures including His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Federation, His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council and Mahir Abdulkarim Julfar, Executive Vice President at DWTC.

Binous Classic Bodybuilding Championship aims to unite athletes, sports fans, and spectators from around the globe to celebrate fitness, strength, and sportsmanship. Highlights include bodybuilding, powerlifting, kickboxing, and more. Combat sports such as boxing, wrestling, and judo will also be featured, alongside various fitness challenges.

The event will see appearances from top athletes like Kai Greene, Kevin Levrone, and Dexter Jackson, and will feature meet-and-greet sessions, workshops, and exhibitions. Fan zones, health and wellness booths, and merchandise stalls will enhance the experience for attendees.

The event kicks off at 10am on both days, with entry tickets starting at Dhs 50. Tickets can be purchased through the Virgin Megastore website, where you can also find more details about the event.
