Museums are a great way to immerse into the culture and past of a country. With Dubai's rich heritage and culture, modern history and future vision, visiting the museums is a definite must to learn more about this great place. Here are some of the museums in Dubai to visit and check out.

Etihad Museum

Walk through life in the UAE from the years 1968 to 1974 at the Etihad Museum. Located at Jumeirah Street, the museum highlights the decisions and initiatives taken by the founding fathers of the country to make the UAE what it is today.

The stories of the union are shared from the perspective of the country's leaders. The museum also showcases documents and materials from the unification.

Admission to the museum is set at Dhs 25 with student tickets at Dhs 10.

Museum of the Future 

Travel into the future to the year 2071 at the Museum of the Future. The stunning museum is designed by Mattar bin Lahej with Arabic calligraphy of a poem by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The museum offers a hub for scientific and technological advancements as well as solutions for both the present generation and the future and is a definite must-visit.

Admission is set at Dhs 145 for people aged 3 years and above.

Al Shindagha Museum

Take a look into the culture of Dubai at the Al Shindagha Museum. Located at Dubai Creek, the museum takes visitors into the lives of Emiratis and the importance of maritime trade in their lives.

Situated in one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Dubai, visitors can also visit the Perfume House which highlights the role of perfume which has been carried on by generations, as well as a looks into the governing bodies in Dubai and society.

Tickets to the museum are priced at Dhs 15 for adults and Dhs 5 for students tickets.

Dubai Heritage Village

Located at Al Shindagha, the Dubai Heritage Village looks into the lives and the culture of the Bedouin settlement. Focusing on what life in the past looks like, the museum highlights the relevance of maritime trading, pearl diving, traditions and architecture.

Enjoy looking at stunning pieces like the cooking utensils used, armour worn, traditional weapons, wooden chests and more. A range of workshops are available from pottery and weaving and visitors can also buy a range of Bedouin handicrafts.

Entry to the museum is free.

Naif Museum

Originally a police station, the location has now been converted into a museum to highlight the journey of the police and their role in protecting the country.

The museum displays how the police uniform has changed over the years, showcases detention rooms as well as the weapons used in the past.

The museum is open to all for free.

Coffee Museum

Located in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, the Coffee Museum takes visitors on a journey into the history of coffee. The museum highlights the different methods coffee is brewed and roasted globally and will also feature books and documents relating to coffee.

Visitors can also sip on some delicious coffee at the coffee shop.

The museum is open to all for free.

Coins Museum

The Coins Museum in Bur Dubai gives visitors the opportunity to look at over 470 rare coins. The coins date over several historic periods and have all the information on each coin as well as a magnifying glass to get a better look at each coin.

The coins on display range rom India, the British Empire and more.
