Updated on 12 March 2024

Dubai residents, get ready to chuckle because the funniest event in town, the Dubai Comedy Festival, is back on 12 April. Running until 21 April, this 10-day festival guarantees endless laughter in Dubai, featuring an impressive lineup packed with comedic talent. Now joining the festival are Katherine Ryan, the famous Canadian comedian, and Laughtrip, a popular troupe from the Filipino comedy scene led by Alex Calleja.

Katherine Ryan, a versatile talent known for her skills as a comedian, writer, presenter, actress, and singer, is set to make her Dubai debut at the festival. Scheduled to perform on 12 April at the Dubai Opera Main Hall, Ryan's sharp and witty comedy style, often likened to the legendary Joan Rivers, has earned her widespread acclaim and a devoted fan following worldwide. A familiar face on British TV and radio panel shows, including her role as a regular team captain on '8 Out of 10 Cats', Katherine Ryan has graced stages like the BBC's Live at the Apollo and released two successful Netflix specials, 'In Trouble' in 2017 and 'Glitter Room' in 2019.

Laughtrip is a comedy group including Alex Calleja, Israel Buenaobra, Jeps Gallon, and Mak Navarez, all prominent figures in the Filipino comedy circuit. With Alex's relatable humour, Israel's incisive observations, Mak's edgy comedy, and Jeps' animated performances, their show promises an evening of laughter and authenticity. Presented by Hollywood Pop-Up Entertainment, this event on 13 April at Dubai Opera Main Hall guarantees an unforgettable night filled with humour and genuine entertainment.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased on Dubai Opera's website or Platinumlist

Dubai Comedy Festival, produced by BRAG in partnership with Live Nation, BookMyShow Live, Outside The Box Events, and presented by Dubai Calendar, will be hosted at prestigious venues like Dubai Opera and the Coca-Cola Arena, offering a unique blend of wit, humour, and unforgettable performances. Stay tuned for all the upcoming details.
