Expo City's Ramadan Pop-Up 'Hai Ramadan' To Return In March
Updated on 15 February 2024

During the Holy Month of Ramadan, Expo City Dubai will host 'Hai Ramadan', promising an array of cultural festivities, family-oriented activities, traditional iftars and suhoors, and a vibrant artisanal market. Expo City will also host the Iftar Cannon, signalling the start of iftar with a single shot fired to announce the timings every evening. Worshippers will also be able to access a dedicated mosque in the Sustainability District for all prayers.

Al Wasl Plaza, representing the Arabic term 'hai' for 'neighbourhood' and 'welcome,' will be the main location for immersive projections and storytelling sessions. At sunset, Al Wasl Plaza will showcase captivating projections tailored for the month-long event. Al Wasl will narrate special stories to children gathered at the dome.

Children will get a friendly greeting from Expo City mascots Rashid and Latifa. They will feature in the theatrical show 'Quest to Find the Moon' at Al Wasl Plaza. Additionally, engaging workshops and games will instil Ramadan values like kindness and compassion, inspiring children of all ages to embrace the spirit of the Holy Month.

Capturing the delight of breaking fast and enjoying a meal with loved ones during the Holy Month, visitors can savour delicious food and beverages throughout the site. With more than 20 outlets and food carts, guests can choose from a variety of iftars, suhoors, and Ramadan treats.

Options include specially curated corporate iftars starting at Dhs 275 per person, scenic iftars by the Surreal water feature priced at Dhs 220 for adults, family-friendly iftars at the newly opened Oasis Food Hall starting at Dhs 150 for adults and Dhs 90 for children aged 6 to 12, free for children aged five and under, and a unique iftar and suhoor menu at Al Wasl Plaza Café.

Hai Ramadan will run daily from 5pm to midnight. Guests with iftar and suhoor bookings can enter for free, while others can enter for Dhs 20 per person. Children aged five and under can enter for free. Tickets will soon be available on Platinumlist.
