The Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra is hosting a concert for UNICEF, to raise money for children affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

The concert will be held on 19 June at 8pm at The Theatre, Mall of the Emirates.

Featuring a mix of Arabic and classical music, the show will also see the orchestra playing alongside vocalist Somar Al Najjar, performing a poem by Emirati poet, Dr Talal Al Junaibi.

The show will be conducted by Riad Kudsi.

An exhibition called 'Earthquake through the Eyes of Children and Youth' will be held before the showcase, covering the works of young artists.

During the concert, Khaled Jalal will create a live painting, focused around the earthquake.

Prices for the show start at Dhs 100 and are available via the Art for All website

On 6 February, an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Turkey and Syria in the morning, followed by a second one of 7.5 magnitude on the Richter scale in the afternoon. The earthquakes left many without homes and displaced.
