things to do concierge CONCIERGE TIPS: KANISHK TEKCHANDANI
Concierge Tips: Kanishk Tekchandani
Updated on 12 July 2023

When arranging a trip to Dubai, even with all the planning in advance, there is also the chance of missing some hidden treasures that locals and residents of the city can enjoy. But fret not, these can always be uncovered by speaking to the people who know most about what to see in do in Dubai.

Kanishk Tekchandani, Travel Consultant at Premier Inn Al Jaddaf, is a great example of some to give all the insider information on Dubai to make any visit a memorable one.

Originally from India, Kanishk Tekchandani has worked as a travel consultant for over 18 months in Dubai, and helps people in finding out all the information required for about Dubai and how to make the most of their stay.

In this feature, Kanishk Tekchandani shares with Discover Dubai the top two things he recommends doing in Dubai over the next two months, to some of the hidden gems across the Emirate.

What two tourist activities would you recommend for a visitor if they are visiting over the next two months?

We are in the hot season now, so anything to keep cool. Our guests love anything water related, so I would suggest a visit to one of the UAE’s world-class water parks, or perhaps a yacht tour to take in the sight and sounds of the Arabian Gulf.

What would you suggest as a must-try, must-visit and a must-eat for all visitors?

Must Try: Anyone who visits Dubai must try a desert safari. It is an experience like no other and a complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city.

Must Visit: For a must-visit experience, I would have to recommend Dubai's famous Gold Souk, one of our oldest traditional markets with 350 jewellery shops.

Must Eat: When it comes to must-eat, it has to be the famous shish tawook, which is a traditional and delicious marinated kebab.

What is a hidden gem that you would suggest is worth visiting or trying?

It has to be Love Lake in Dubai. This wonderful place gets its name from its unique shape consisting of two large, interconnected hearts. It is a very scenic spot in the desert, where you can really connect with nature by surrounding yourself with more than 100 species of animals, flowers and plants.

What is your favourite thing about Dubai?

My favourite is a trip to the desert, during the day or in the evening. It is so peaceful and a great way to relax for a few hours. I love the city, but it is wonderful to head off to watch the sunset in the desert when I can.

What is the one must-do at Premier Inn Al Jaddaf for a guest?

Premier Inn’s famous all-you-can-eat breakfast is not to be missed. Expect full English fare, plus Arabic and Asian dishes, yoghurts, fruits, salads, cheeses and tea, coffee and juices, as much as you like. Our breakfast is also available for walk-in guests, too.
